Wykamol Condensation Strip
In a cavity drain waterproofing system, itโs normal for moisture and condensation to appear on the face of the membrane. The key is controlling it properly so it doesnโt affect your internal finishes.
Wykamol Condensation Strip is designed to do exactly that. By forming an 8mm gap between the perimeter drainage channel and the wall membrane, it creates a dedicated route for condensation to collect and drain away, helping keep the wall/floor junction cleaner and reducing the risk of damp marks and finish damage.
Where Wykamol Condensation Strip Is Used
This strip is commonly installed as part of:
- Basement and cellar waterproofing projects
- Perimeter drainage channel systems
- CM cavity drain membrane installations
- Refurbishments where you want added protection at the wall/floor junction
Itโs particularly useful where the finished floor build-up is greater than 65mm, to help manage condensation that can develop on the membrane face behind the wall lining.
How Wykamol Condensation Strip Helps Your Waterproofing System Perform Better
Waterproofing membranes and drainage channels are designed to manage water. But condensation at the perimeter can still cause issues if itโs allowed to sit against finishes.
Adding the Wykamol Condensation Strip:
- Creates a consistent drainage gap
- Helps prevent moisture tracking onto decorative finishes
- Complements the performance of CM wall membranes and perimeter channels by handling condensation at the critical junction
Wykamol Condensation Strip Installation
Installation is quick and straightforward:
- Position the strip at the perimeter detail where the condensation gap is required
- Ensure it creates the correct separation between the drainage channel and wall membrane
- Continue with your system build-up as designed (channels, membranes, floor build-up, and internal finishes)
(As always, follow the project waterproofing design and the manufacturerโs installation guidance for the full system.)
