Dryzone ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive – Mould Eradication Solution

Dryzone ACS Mould Eradication Additive is a highly-effective biocidal additive liquid. It imparts paints, wallpaper pastes and tile grouts with mould-resistant properties. The special biocidal formula of the additive will resist the growth of mould in areas of persistent condensation for at least five years.

Solving condensation and mould issues can be difficult. The Dryzone range contains two excellent solutions for eliminating mould growth on walls and ceilings, even in areas with high levels of condensation.

Application

Application For Dryzone ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive

Preparation

Preparation is straightforward and very similar to normal good decorative practice.

Remove any loose material such as old paint, grease, dirt, mould or defective wallpaper. Dryzone 100 Mould Remover

can be used for wetting mould-contaminated wallpaper prior to removing it.

  1. Make good any defects in the surface and rub down to a smooth finish.
  2. Wash and clean all surfaces (walls, ceilings, window frames and joinery) using Dryzone 100 Mould Remover. If necessary clean badly affected areas a second time.
  3. Allow to dry thoroughly.
  4. If necessary, apply an appropriate primer or sealer to new, unprimed or porous plaster and wooden surfaces or bare metal.

Mixing

Emulsion based paints – vinyl, silk or matt:

Add 100 ml of Dryzone Anti-Mould Additive to 5 Litres. Blend the Anti-Mould Paint Additive until fully dispersed, for at least 1 minute.

Solvent based paints – primer, undercoat or gloss:

Add 50 ml of Dryzone Anti-Mould Additive to 5 Litres. Blend the Anti-Mould Paint Additive until fully dispersed, for at least 1 minute.

Wallpaper paste and Tile grout:

Add 100 ml of Dryzone Anti-Mould Additive to 5 Litres. Blend the Anti-Mould Paint Additive until fully dispersed, for at least 1 minute.

Application

Apply the paint, paste or grout in the normal way according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not overcoat the anti-mould finish (or wallpaper over it) as this will effectively seal in the mould-resistant finish and allow the mould to grow back.

If an unfinished, textured wallpaper (blown vinyl, woodchip etc.) or similar is to be used then it should be hung after the Dryzone 100 Mould Remover has fully dried. The wallpaper should then be coated with the anti-mould finish as above.
