Roxil Wood Protection Cream

The best paint for wood is Roxil Wood Protection Cream, which is a silicone cream emulsion that can be used to protect wood for ten years or more with just one application. Roxil Wood Protection Cream keeps wood looking its best by preventing it from absorbing moisture, which might cause deterioration, warping, and moss/algae growth.

The colourless cream solution will penetrate into the wood and form a water-resistant barrier after being applied by brush or roller. Roxil will protect fences, decking, sheds, furniture and more from the elements without changing their appearance.

Reduce Algae & Mould Growth

Because of the impact of moisture, exposure to inclement weather conditions can cause wood to degrade and get dirty in a very short period of time.

Mould and algae can grow on damp surfaces because of the amount of moisture in the wood. Mould & algae can permanently discolour wood.

Roxil Wood Protection Cream penetrates into the surface of timber and creates a waterproof barrier. Roxil allows water to be readily repelled and prevents dampness from reaching the wood, reducing mould and algae build-up.

Maintain Natural Appearance

Many of the wood treatments on the market today significantly change the appearance of the surface. They introduce a colour stain or create an unnatural texture.

The unique Roxil Wood Protection Cream formula forms an unseeable / invisible waterproof barrier. There’s no difference in the wood’s texture or appearance after it has been treated; therefore, the natural beauty of the wood is maintained.

Roxil Wood Protection Cream is a colourless weatherproofer. Once fully cured, Roxil will enhance the natural appearance of wood without adding a stain or sheen. It will also slow down the silvering process that occurs due to UV exposure.

Improved Resistance to Warping & Structural Instability

Wood swells when it absorbs moisture. Wood structures are susceptible to the stress generated by this expansion, which might cause them to become warped or broken

The high-quality blend of wood-preserving ingredients in Roxil Wood Protection Cream acts as a barrier against moisture penetration, reducing the expansion that causes wood to warp. This increased structural stability can extend the life of timber.

Garden Furniture Protection With Roxil

Wooden garden furniture, such as benches, tables, or awnings, is especially vulnerable to moisture. The structural integrity of these materials is important, since they are frequently required to support weight.

Warping, cracking, and even decay can all be caused by moisture. A coat of Roxil Wood Protection Cream will significantly reduce moisture penetration and make any garden furniture weatherproof for 10+ years, extending its operational life.

10 Year Weatherproofing

Roxil Wood Protection Cream is a colourless weatherproofer for softwoods and weathered hardwoods. Once applied, the advanced silicone cream formula absorbs into the wood and stops the ingress of moisture on wood for 10 years.

Single-Coat & No-Drip Application

The unique cream formula of Roxil Wood Protection Cream allows for more even loading than liquid weatherproofers and does not does not drip or run, meaning only a single coat needs to be applied by brush or roller.

Award winning timber treatment

Roxil Wood Cream has won awards every year since it’s release.

Voted for the Professional Builder Product of the Year award by the applicators themselves and the TTJ Innovation award by industry experts.

Application

Application for Roxil Wood Protection Cream

Roxil Wood Protection Cream is recommended for use on softwood timber, including water susceptible species such as pine, as well as absorbent weathered hardwoods.

Preparation

All coatings should be completely removed and, if necessary, grey or deteriorated wood should be sanded down to provide a clean, sound surface.

The wood surface to be treated must be clean and dry before treatment can begin. It is recommended to use a cleaner such as Roxil Wood & Patio Cleaner to cleanse the wood surface before applying Roxil Wood Protection Cream. Ensure all new wood is free of factory treatments and is freshly cleaned before application, this is particularly important for new wood in horizontal situations such as benches and decking where moulds can sometimes be seen, a biocidal wash such as Roxil Wood & Patio Cleaner should be used. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours before applying Roxil Wood Protection Cream.

For increased protection against mould, rot and staining the surface can be primed using Roxil Wood Preserver. Apply in accordance with application guidelines and allow the wood to dry for at least 24 hours, before applying Roxil Wood Protection Cream.

Test Area

Roxil Wood Protection Cream has been formulated as a colourless protection for use with absorbent wood such as softwood timber and weathered hardwoods. It is recommended to try a small test area before full application to determine compatibility.

If staining is required, it is generally best to apply the stain first and allow the fence to fully dry before applying Roxil Wood Protection Cream. Performance will vary depending on the type of stain used; always test a small area first to determine compatibility.

Application

Roxil Wood Protection Cream should be applied in temperatures between 5 – 30°C. Although the product is resistant to light rain showers, it should not be applied when heavy rain is forecast. Allow wood to dry out before application. Wear suitable protective clothing (including protective gloves).

Apply by brush or roller, ensuring that a thin and even coat is applied, taking care not to leave uneven lumps on the surface. For less absorbent woods such as oak any residue left on the surface can be removed using a cloth after several hours.

Care should be taken to ensure Roxil Wood Protection Cream does not splash onto glass, paintwork, plants, etc. Any splashes should be wiped away and cleaned with warm soapy water.

After application the silicone will penetrate into the wood and form a water repellent barrier.

The white creamy appearance immediately after application makes it easy to see which areas have been treated. After 2 hours in summer and 4 – 6 hours in winter the appearance will change with the cream becoming clear. The cream will be absorbed into the wood over the period of one week, after which the wood will return to its natural colour.

After use clean brushes or roller with white spirit.

Maintenance

The service life of Roxil Wood Protection Cream can be enhanced by regular maintenance, especially on horizontal surfaces where there is an increased contact time with water. On occasion it is expected that a small amount of organic growth may settle on the surface, this can be removed by gentle cleaning using Roxil Wood & Patio Cleaner.

Roxil Wood Protection Cream does not fully prevent colour changes on weathering but will reduce the speed of general deterioration and increase the lifetime of timber.

Have used this product for some time now and can thoroughly recommend it. We used it on garden furniture and the rain just beads up and runs off. On our shed it works really well too.
(Discovered it after trying a similar product called Stormdry which is for stone, concrete, brickwork etc and then found this stuff for wood.)
Cannot speak highly enough of it. Anyone who thinks it’s too expensive consider this. I have a long wooden fence around my garden and it has taken 15 litres to cover it. The initial cost seems astronomical at £250, but it is guaranteed to last at least 10 years. So that means it’s costing £25 per year – or £0.48p per week…
Suddenly not so expensive if you remember that other waterproofing products cost less initially but only last a year…?
